General Information
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized assessment which has been widely used as part of the assessment process for admission into advanced study programs in business and management (such as MBA) schools for many years.
Under the direction of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the GMAT test is developed and administered by the US-based Pearson VUE a non-profit organization of graduate business schools worldwide. Pearson VUE has appointed testing centers in various countries for conducting GMAT. The test is a required part of the admission process for most MBA programmes in the US, Canada and the rest of the world. It helps graduate schools of business to assess the potential of applicants for advanced study in business and management. All over the world (almost all of them in the US) nearly 900 management institutes give admission in the MBA program on the basis of GMAT scores. The GMAT is conducted via computer.
The test helps in measuring various skills and abilities of applicants that develop over time. The test consists of three main sections - quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, and analytical writing. Areas of content remain same each year, but specific questions vary. The questions are being timely changed according to the overall requirements for the test.
